The 6 Most Asked Questions

Q: What fingers do I use? How hard do I tap?

A: Index and Middle fingers. Fingertips only. Not your nails. Medium pressure, but not firm. You should never feel sore after Tapping.

Q: How long and frequent should I tap?

A: 5-10sec on each point. No less than 5mins and daily if possible. Like anything - intention and motivation are key to best results.

Q: Why am I feeling tingly?

In this practice, we are stimulating the body and your flow of energy. Any imbalanced, blocked or stagnant energy (usually associated with our thoughts and emotions) moves in order to bring the body back into balance. This is quite powerful and can sometimes cause a few tingles or lightheadedness for a few minutes. Drink a glass of water. Sit and relax.

Q. Why do I need to drink water?

  1. Dehydration can exacerbate stress, anxiety and your ability to focus.

  2. We are Tapping on acupressure points, connected to meridians lines (non-anatomical energy channels). As well as hydrating the body, water allows for better flow of energy around the body. Better flow = more movement = amazing results. You really feel the shift.

As a guide, drink 500mls of water before and after. Some say a 1L - but I think it all depends on your size and how much water you normally drink during the day when not Tapping.

Q: Is Tapping safe?

A: Tapping is considered to be very safe. I have used EFT for stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, Fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, gut dysbiosis with amazing results.

It would not be responsible of me, not to preface if you have a medical condition or you are pregnant, my recommendation is to talk with your Specialist, GP or Acupuncturist if you have one first, if you are in anyway unsure. Please do your research so you are well-informed on EFT.

Why? The acupressure points connect into meridians lines and their ‘associated organs’, so even though this technique is simple, easy-to-do and makes you feel good in a few minutes - it’s quite powerful.

In my personal experience, if a certain part of my body is overactive, EFT will amplify this energy. After many years of working with a Melbourne-based Applied Kinesiologist, I can now recognise if my thyroid is overstimulated. If I feel this happening, I avoid Tapping the side of the eye (Triple Warmer Gallbladder point) for a week, until the body has corrected this imbalance through other means like reduction in stress, sleep, eating wholefoods and low-impact exercise (walking / yoga).

Q: Can Children Tap?

A: Absolutely! Tapping is well-received by kids and some schools use Tapping for anxiety and help with focus & study. There are many Practitioners including myself available to help kids Tap on a specific issues, in their language, at their pace. You will see in my Group Tapping videos, the 5 year old daughter of the Agency’s owner. She loved Tapping and they follow along and repeat only the words they understand. Her favourite video is ‘Have an Amazing Day’.
